A Modern Fraternity Serving the Triangle Region

The Alpha Epsilon Omega Alumni Chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. has led change in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and throughout the Triangle region of North Carolina for nearly 30 years through service, leadership, collaboration, and action. Whether a community service project, a multi-tiered initiative, or mentoring youth, the Triangle Iotas live by the tenet of Building a Tradition, Not Resting Upon One.

Our efforts have resulted in multiple honors, including the 2021 Eastern Region Social Action & Impact Award, a finalist for 2021 International Alumni Chapter of the Year, the 2020 N.C. Alumni Chapter of the Year, and our Polaris being honored as the 2020 Eastern Region Alumni Brother of the Year.

In addition, one of our undergraduate chapters, Epsilon Pi (East Carolina University), was named the 2020 N.C. Undergraduate Chapter of the Year.

Chapter Initiatives

TIME TO BUILD

The Time To Build initiative aims to enhance black communities in the Triangle through impactful and measurable community efforts. This ambitious effort includes our Voter Education Series, an initiative to increase voter literacy among underrepresented communities ahead of the November election, and our Law Enforcement Series, which has built bridges between police and the community.

ST. JUDE CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL

The Triangle Iotas have raised thousands for St. Jude through the annual St. Jude Run/Walk to End Childhood Cancer, an event we regularly partner with the Alpha Omicron Omega Alumni Chapter (Fayetteville, N.C.).

#MUCHMORETHANAHASHTAG

This national partnership with Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., aims to increase community engagement through multiple initiatives, including voting & voter registration, citizen review boards, jury duty, property taxes, protesting, and participating in homeowner associations/civic clubs/municipal utility districts.

Through this initiative, the Triangle Iotas have partnered with the Beta Pi Sigma (Durham, N.C.) and Theta Lambda Sigma (Cary, N.C.) alumnae chapters of Sigma Gamma Rho on our Voter Education Series.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

From working with The Salvation Army of Wake County to helping breast cancer survivors through the Sisters Network Triangle, the Triangle Iotas have logged thousands of community service hours to help better the community one service project at a time.
