Why should I join or work with the Triangle Iotas?

The Triangle Iotas are modern and innovative in addressing issues impacting our communities.

For those interested in joining the Triangle Iotas, whether as a new or current brother, we’re an award-winning chapter that engages the community. For example, our Time to Build Initiative revolves around conversations with residents and experts to address issues impacting black communities in the Triangle.

If you’re considering working with the Triangle Iotas, we deeply believe no one organization can address the total needs of the African-American community. We’re open to partnering with any group willing to invest the time and energy to enhance our communities. 

What are the Triangle Iotas about?

The Triangle Iotas are about strategic partnerships and initiatives that enhance communities of color across the Triangle, especially African-American communities. We are a collective of men from a wide variety of backgrounds who are united under the mission of “Building a Tradition, Not Resting Upon One” and enjoy each other’s company.

There is a process to becoming a member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., part of which includes meeting the qualifications for membership.

Do I need to live in the Triangle to join the Triangle Iotas?

You do not need to live in the Triangle to join the Triangle Iotas.

Why should I join Iota versus another NPHC fraternity?

Each NPHC fraternity has a long history of serving their communities, but before considering one organization over another, it is imperative for you do your research. Talk to active AND financial members of the organizations you’re interested in. Look at how they serve their communities, then make your decision based on this question: Through this organization, can I achieve what I want to achieve in a fraternity?

I want to join Iota Phi Theta but there’s no chapter at my school or the chapter at my school is inactive. What do I do?
